I actually love that our house is on the smallish side. For one thing, it creates (ok…forces) more opportunities for us to be together. Our bedrooms are small but the living areas are nice-sized. We gravitate towards them as a family.
Also…who wants to clean a large house? NOT this busy-enough-already mommy, that’s for sure!
And speaking of cleaning, the one thing that makes me the MOST nuts about keeping things neat around here is ALL. THIS. PAPER. Seriously…we have piles of papers here and piles of papers there. We have boxes of paper piles that have moved with us more than once. EMBARRASSING!
Space is at a premium in this smallish house. Do I REALLY want to waste so much of it on paper? Of course not! But I find myself completely overwhelmed when I sit down to go through the paper piles. What if I throw away the wrong things? How do I set up a filing system that works but isn’t overly complicated?
As I was perusing some of my favorite blogs this morning, I came across this fabulous post from Simple Mom (LOVE her). 19 Tips for Making Your Home Paperless.
If you share my struggle with paper clutter in your home, check it out!
