They Can Do This

by Monica on August 18, 2010

I know they can.

This is a quick picture I snapped this morning as my three big kids headed out the door. This was just after they informed me that they could go to their class without me from now on. They “don’t need” me to walk them in anymore.

Then in the car as we pulled into the drop-off line, Sweet started quietly chanting, “I can do this. I can do this. I can do this.” I’m pretty sure she was trying to convince herself, but I needed to hear it too.

I know they can do this. But it sure is scary to watch them walking away. Into the big, bad world. OK, I know it’s just kindergarten but it sorta’ feels much larger than that.

This whole kids growing up thing has REALLY strengthened my prayer life.  Good grief.
