I got SO tired of repeating the same things over and over and over again every morning. I felt like I was barking orders and we kept getting into power-struggle arguments. Not fun. And not the way I wanted each day to begin.
I created this chart that shows the expected morning routine. I just stuck it in a frame so I can either stand it on a surface or hang it on a wall (it’s going right outside their bathroom door). I included words and pictures, so they can “read” it on their own. And the best part?
It works. Brilliantly.
Yesterday and today, I watched in amazement as they scurried to and fro…pausing to double check their chart. When their friend came over to play yesterday after school, they were happy to show it off to him.
Who knew a $3 frame and a piece of paper could make mornings so much more pleasant?!?!

I’m confused. Is this for you or for the kids?
ha ha. very funny, dad.
You are brilliant and I am a bandit – taking your chart and frame idea and totally using it for my daughter!
Have a wonderful weekend and be sure to give your charming little ones a great big kiss and hug from me!!!
I would really love to know where you got your clipart from. I am a mother of four and feeling overwhelmed in the mornings. After looking at a lot of different charts online, I really like your chart the best. Thanks so much.
I think that Pop’s comment hit the nail on the head- I need to remember the routine as much as my 2 year old!!! Can I ask how old your kids were when you used this?? Thanks!
