The peapod squad and I were bored this morning. It was a rainy yucky mess outside so we were stuck in the house trying to figure out how to make some fun. In an effort to STOP THE WHINING I put my weary thinking cap on and remembered seeing something like this (a much fancier version) in a magazine. We used boxes from our pantry to make matchbox-style notepads. They are the perfect size for little hands and have just enough paper in them to allow for some writing practice or colored pencil fun!
Want to make your own? Easy peasy.
First, gather the supplies. You’ll need old boxes. Look for colorful ones with great graphics (or just use whatever you’ve got like we did). You’ll also need a stapler, some filler paper for the pages, scissors and/or a paper cutter.
Then de-construct the boxes so you have a flat piece to work with. Cut out a rectangle…any size you choose.
Cut your filler paper to fit, fold so that you have a top “flap” to staple the pages to.
Tuck the cover in and TADA!
These are the four we made (we made one for their best buddy next-door, too). I wish I’d taken the time to be more creative about what would be on the cover of each, but there’s always the next rainy day!
