Our bird eggs hatched sometime yesterday! They look a bit like alien babies at this point…but in that so-ugly-they’re-cute way. I had a brief opportunity to snap this picture…precariously perched upon a step-ladder on our downstairs patio. The nest is built under a beam of our upstairs deck. We could see the 5 eggs through the tiny crack between floorboards on the deck. I was determined, though, to get a clearer picture of the babies and timed it just as their fiercely protective mommy had flown away in search of food.
So we have triplets AND quintuplets. Fun!
