breast cancer awareness

October is National  Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I doubt any of us has been untouched by this disease in some way. So what can we do?

  • Donate to the Susan B. Komen foundation.
  • Join the Circle of Promise and pledge to become a part of the solution.
  • Buy Yoplait yogurt and support their Save Lids to Save Lives campaign.
  • Plan your own fundraising for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
  • Donate a mammogram for someone who cannot afford to have one.
  • Encourage your friends to do routine breast exams and to schedule their yearly mammogram. Early detection is CRITICAL.
  • Arm yourself with the information you need to take care of yourself.
  • My friend, Rachel, over at A Southern Fairytale is spending October “Blogging for Boobs.” She’s raising awareness by highlighting stories from survivors and their friends and family. Go read and comment on some of the inspiring and moving stories.
