I see nothing selfish at all about taking a little extra time for yourself when you can. I think if you're a happier, more relaxed person you can be a better mother, wife, even friend. I am homeschooling my daughter for preschool, but when she goes to kindergarten next year, I plan on doing the same (not that I need it as much as you do with triplets!). :)

It's a weird feeling isn't it, going from selfless to selfish {not really}? I do love that small time of aloneness every day though, it does make me appreciate them that much more.

Once you get accustomed to the child free hours of the day, you'll eventually discover that you and the PPS can have meaningful conversations about how you spent your day and how they spent theirs. You'll be able to relate to them as real people more and more. My advice? Make sure to have some snackage in the car when you pick them up. It makes the ride home a little more pleasant.
