Something tells me Sweet Pea will be VERY high-maintenance as a teenager.

Awww...how sweet! You're back again! Hope you enjoy your visit with the Peapod Squad!

This girl is going to give us a run for our money in a few years. I just know it. Since she was two, she has been extremely verbal about her disapproval of some of my fashion choices for her. She threw an all-out tantrum on the way to church one morning because I had the gall to put black shoes on her when she was wearing a brown dress. Again…she was TWO. "No match!" Umm, yeah. And she needs matching bows/accessories even if we're just hanging out at home all day. Truly.

Her latest thing is her pretend cell phone. She carries it around like her brothers carry their blankets. She is constantly talking to people on it. And she really holds one end of a conversation…complete with "OK" "Oh no!" "I know!" "Sure" and the like. I don't know where she has seen so much cell phone usage. I'm not often on the phone around them. I can't be, because my being on the phone seems to be an invitation for them to start acting like zoo animals. They've only had teenage girl babysitters 2 or 3 times ever, so I don't think that's her inspiration either. I'm perplexed. Now if she was walking around pretending to type on a laptop all day, I'd take ownership of that behavior modeling.

Last week she was chatting away on her cell phone while I was driving the gang home from church. I asked Split a question while we were stopped at a traffic light. Sweet Pea sighed in disgust, said, "hold on jussa minute," put her little hand over the mouthpiece of her pink plastic Cinderella phone and said, "Hush your mouth, Mommy. My twying to have a comersation here!"

Good grief.

You are sooo in for it! LOL. But I’ve got one too, so we can go crazy together!

That’s awesome! Little Miss Diva. I guess it’s not always learned…you can chalk this one up to Nature and not Nurture I think. =)

How funny!! I have 2 daughters who are 4 and 2. They both wear whatever I put on them, but sometimes my older one throws a fit about her clothes, but its rare. Im thinking my younger one might be the high maintenance one. Anywho, her cell phone comersation sounds too cute!

How funny! My oldest does the same thing… except she just holds her hand to her head… people tend to look at an 11yo talking to her hand… kind of “get smart-ish”.
My 7yo just started fussing about her clothes, so I feel for you!

It is not just your kids. My 10 year old nephew thinks he can justify an iPhone. While my 5 year old thinks he needs a ps3, xbox, cell phone, and iPod. Now that is a demanding list!

Oh, I can so relate. My 3yr old daughter changes clothes numerous times everyday. And she also is obsessed with her toy cellphone.
So, never fear for we are in this together.

she must be the one talking to my son. His end of the cell phone conversation goes, “yeah…yeah…yeah” like somebody whose not listening to whoever is going on & on the other end.
I don’t hang on the phone all day, I’m on-line. People I would call are overseas. So I couldn’t figure out where he picked this up, he’s been doing it since he was a year old. Then one night his Grandmum called, and I noticed his dad’s behaviuour!
