Help! I wanna’ hang with the cool kids.

Twitter. How on earth does it work? I feel like the last blogger on earth not twittering twitting tweeting UGH! I don't even know what word to use. Perhaps this is a sign. You know...that I'm too old for Twitter. OK, so how about Plurk? The name makes me giggle. Giggling is good, right? But again...I just don't get it.

So, someone explain (in language I can understand) what these things are/why I should use them. Thanks. You're the best. No, really, I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

I have a Twitter account, but I could never get into it. I’ve heard it’s addictive, but I never got “twitter-pated”. Let’s not say we’re too old and too busy, let’s think of it as mature and productive. (HA!)

Twitter is fun and easy. It’s a great social networking site, a way to connect and be connected.
Sign up, find your friends, by e-mail, by name etc… It’s a great way to share thoughts and meet new people.
Plurk is similar, but it’s smaller, more personal. You can hold conversations within plurks (giggle). It’s a bit more one on one than Twitter
Does that make sense?
